Vintage Love In A Guest Room

We're having some very special guests tomorrow, and have been plumping pillows, and over all, fluffing up our guest bedroom to get it ready. So I thought I'd share a few things I do in preparation.
A few tips to make your guests feel welcome, and comfy...
Always make sure the linens are fresh and clean. (Nuff, said ;))

Always put out fresh flowers. (here we simply plucked from our garden the remaining Season's Hydrangeas)

If it's possible, include a small table and chair in your guestroom with internet service. (After all, it's a "high tech" world, and guests will want to send emails, check in at work, school, or home).

A few mints are a nice touch, as well as a soothing music c.d., (here we chose Sarah Brightman)

We moved the pretty vintage style painting, (it's a print, really) above our little metal painted "desk" to show it off a bit, the colors are very muted, yet have an old world feel.

Keeping the vignette simple just a few books for guests to browse.

A vintage Paris Souvenir serves as a miniature dish to hold mints (still to add) for our company.
This last photo is "un-staged" it's a basket I use for extra linens, my husband took the photo without my knowledge, but I found it charming. (sorry about the weird outlet, I still don't know what it's meant for)

Thanks for stopping by for a visit,  back soon with more to share, xxx tami

Do you ever?

Challenge yourself?
You know, like, see if you can throw together a simply fab dinner without running out to the market?
Or freshen up the look of a room by changing out a pillow or two?
I do this a lot.
With company coming and no time for a trip to the store, I decided to "shop" for flowers in my own garden. Not easy considering we're at the end of Summer and the blooms are looking pretty pathetic.

But somehow I managed to find a few pretties that will do.

I use my tureen a lot, it's large and makes a nice statement on my little stand in "sideboard".

I also like to fill a few pitchers and even votives with what ever I have, roses, hydrangeas, etc.
This sort of challenge is rather fun... not to mention economical ;)

This Little Piggy

Greetings! I thought I would share with you this cool sign made by one of our local artists.

It's an original hand painted vintage style sign for a French Butcher Shop.
(no offense to those of you who are vegan)
I'll be sharing and selling some of this artist's work in my Etsy shop which I'll re-open soon.
For those of you who were so kind to write to me in my absence and ask how my own "little piggy" ie broken toe is doing, it's healing, albeit slowly. Thank you so much for your kind words of concern. xxx
Have a wonderful week, stay cool, and thanks again.
