Project #2 2011

There are certain items which are my weakness...pillows, china, chairs, and tables. I can't help myself, even if there's no place left in the house to put them, I want to take them home like stray puppies. So you can imagine when I saw this what happened.
It wasn't just the price tag that got me, it was the detail.
And look, it's all ready for a fresh coat of paint. No need to strip. When my Husband saw what I'd found, he quickly picked it up, I was holding onto it, and people gathering around me telling me how great it was. It was a no-brainer. We'll find a spot for it. I'll paint it white, and rub off lots of spots to show off the detail. I know,
not overly exciting, but it will work in any room. And I won something fantastic which I plan on displaying on top of it, with a new lamp. There's room for other pretties too. It's a good size side table.
She's got nice legs don't ya think? I can't wait to show her off.
Thank you to all of my readers, and to those of you who take the time to comment. March is nearly here, Spring is in the Air, and I'll be back with the After Photos soon. xoxo tami

Good Afternoon! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, I had a busy one! Ending with a nice dinner with good friends. I wanted to thank everyone for joining in the fun for the CSN giveaway! Such nice comments. Kinda fun to revisit your childhood isn't it?
I have two winners to announce, first the winner of our $25.00 CSN giftcard is PamQ
Who said:
" I had a single homemade wooden swing hung from the clothesline pole by rope.....

But my best friend across the street had a "real" swingset and we spent hours and hours on it. There was a wild rose growing up by the slide!

Your French plates are so cute!!! And that silverware....ooooweee! Very, very nice!

What time should I be over for that cake you mentioned?!?"
Congrats Pam!!!

Now onto our Random Reply Winner, as you know to send a little thank you to my readers I randomly choose a winner out of the replies I recieve to my posts. To make things simple I chose from this post, so...
Congrats to Thoughtfully Blended Hearts !
You have won a pretty toille galvanized Spring Bucket filled with two varieties of lillies to plant inside. I thought this might be fun for Spring.

Ladies please email me your information.
Here is how I chose the winners, I let random.org choose a winner for my Spring Bucket, and then simply looked at the poster above and below the winner of the bucket. Since the poster above already won in January I chose the poster below.

Winner and a new Giveaway

Well, Spring is fast on it's way and will be here before we know it!
Soon, I'll moan about the heat of Summer and be grumpy, for a few months. I'll complain I miss the Ocean. But it's ok.
We were on a little treasure hunt the other day, and I found these Darling French plates, from France. They're just right for a piece of cake.
They've got lovely pink roses on them, with pretty green leaves. Sorry the photos are not clearer.
By the way, many of you asked about the pattern on my silverplate I picked up at a yard sale, here it is...
It's not overly ornate, just simple, elegant. I really like it.  After our treasure hunt we stopped by the park, it was so pretty outside. Lots of families there, children playing on the swingsets
Yes indeed, Spring is in the air!
Oh, by the way, I owe you all an apology, I will have to choose a winner for my comment giveaway on Monday, this is a very busy three days for me and I want to add to the item I am giving away to make it fun. So please bear with me and I'll announce a winner on Monday.

Speaking of Spring,  Giveaways, and Winners, CSN stores is sponsoring a giveaway on my blog. The winner will receive a $25.00 gift card to their online store. How cool is that?
If you would like a chance to win, simply comment on this very post. And let me know if you had a swingset growing up, or if you have any fond memories of swingsets
I'll chose a winner for the CSN gift card from among the commenters on Monday Feb 21st
At CSN there are so many items to choose from , from  swingsets
to cookware, I'm sure you'll find something you fancy;)
Also, many of you asked about this pretty wire basket from my last post, thank you, I'm glad you like it, I've had it longer than I can remember. I think it was at one time a hanging basket for flowers and I spotted it at a thrift shop for 69cents and brought it home to hold magazines. Inspired by the lovely blogs I visit, I decided to use it to hold my new pillows for the photo.
So, basically, comment here for the CSN giveaway and check back Monday, as I'll choose two winners. One for CSN, and one out of my regular commenters for a fun prize.
I'll also have some photos to show you of a fun project I'm beginning. I found something very very pretty to share with you all. See you then;)

Thank you to all of you who are following my blog, and for all the wonderful comments. Have a lovely warm weekend, one and all, xoxo tami

Pillow Love

Anyone who knows me, knows these two things...I love Pillows, and I love Red. It's true.
I'm always on the hunt for pretty pillows, yet affordable. Which is what led me to finding my first Sponsor.
Meet Jan from Sassy Cat Creations
She's the creator of these lovely little things.

Aren't they gorgeous? They're obviously inspired by Cabbages and Roses, whom I love. And they come in other colors, and patterns. She makes wonderful Chenille, and Cottage Style Pillows as well.
Jan has been featured in Better Home and Gardens Magazine.
And I'm not surprised. I love her designs.
If you're looking for a little Pillow Love yourself these days,
hop on over to Sassy Cat Creations
And please let her know Tami sent you.
Also, thanks so much for all the wonderful comments, and kind emails. I'm so happy you enjoy my little blog. I have a couple of projects coming up as well as some more fun Vintage Treasures to share. I'll be back on Friday with a giveaway winner. (breaking my rules and giving you a little advance notice)-;)

English Potted Garden

Greetings One And All!!!
This Week I'm Linking Up To A Very Special Party
It's the English Garden Party over at my Sister Across The Pond's Blog, Sarah Over At Modern Country Style
I think Sarah has been my biggest supporter. She visited my blog one day, and found something she fancied, which led me to hers. Her blog is so inspiring, and full of wonderful crafts, as well as my favorite morning read. So...this is for you Sarah...sending you some warm California Sunshine, and hugs
These pretty potted flowers were a surprisingly great deal at the Dollar Store
Yep...just $1.00 each, and such pretty colors. Perfect for Spring
I added them to a distressed flower trough found at Home Goods, and sat them outside in the warm sunshine on my vintage Bistro Chair
We've had this chair for ages. It's quite heavy. I used to give it a fresh coat of white paint each Summer, but that got tiresome, so I began to simply leave the patina, I happen to like the rust.
We really do not get harsh Winters here in this part of California where I live. But, we get rain, fog, and frost, so it makes for a rather yucky looking Garden this time of year. I thought to spare you those images, and instead, share some prettiness.
I filled my Bird Seed Bowl with some more potted flowers, not to worry, our Bird Bath is full of seed for our Garden Birds. We never let them go hungry.
One of my "Quick Tips" for when Guests are arriving, is to simply set your potted plants (still in the plastic containers) into your indoor planters before guests arrive, you can always re-plant them later, after the visit. This way, your home is nice and colorful, and it looks as though you have a green thumb. No one is the wiser;)

I will also be linking up to the following parties this week:

Have a Wonderfully Warm Week, One and All, and a special thank you to all of you who've made such lovely comments, as well as those of you who are new followers, it means a lot to me.
By the way, I'll be choosing a winner from the comments soon for another fun Giveaway. Be sure to check out January's winner, in "my giveaways" page. xoxo tami
